{"id":18,"date":"2014-07-02T18:09:12","date_gmt":"2014-07-02T18:09:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/fortneysales.com\/?page_id=18"},"modified":"2026-01-12T13:12:15","modified_gmt":"2026-01-12T18:12:15","slug":"faq","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/fortneysales.com\/?page_id=18","title":{"rendered":"FAQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<div align=\"left\">\n<div align=\"left\">\n<p><strong>What is a manufacturer&#8217;s representative?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A manufacturer&#8217;s representative is a contracted sales agent for a specific product and or territory. \u00a0We represent the manufacturer&#8217;s interests in the marketplace.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Are you really just a master distributor?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No. The manufacturers retain ownership of the inventory and your distributor agreement is directly with the manufacturer.<\/li>\n<li>There are occasions when Fortney Sales Company, Inc. will engage in a buy\/resell arrangement to assist you in securing a specific product or service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>Do you sell to end users?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>Our focus and the focus of our manufacturers is the industrial distributor. \u00a0We DO NOT sell to end users.<\/li>\n<li>On rare occasions, we may deal directly with an OEM based on volume or industry requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p><strong>To whom should purchase orders be issued?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As a general rule, all purchase orders should be issued directly to the manufacturer in question.<\/li>\n<li>In the event\u00a0we are engaging in a buy\/resell arrangement, the purchase order should be made to Fortney Sales Company, Inc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong><strong>Where can I send my orders?<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Email orders can be sent to\u00a0<a title=\"sales@fortneysales.com\" href=\"mailto:orders@fortneysales.com\">orders@fortneysales.com<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Orders can be called into our office @ 770.427.6528<\/li>\n<li>You can fax orders to 770.423.9249<\/li>\n<li>General inquiries can be sent to <a title=\"sales@fortneysales.com\" href=\"mailto:sales@fortneysales.com\">sales@fortneysales.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>What is the prepaid freight amount?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>Midland Metal Industrial\n<ul>\n<li>\u00a0$1,500<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Kuriyama of America\n<ul>\n<li>$4,000 for any combination of products.<\/li>\n<li>$1,500 for orders consisting of only coupling products.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>Do you prepay and add freight charges?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>Kuriyama Freight charges can be billed as PP&amp;A for UPS or Freight Line shipments with a completed PPA Registration form.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>Can I mix a Kuriyama order and a Midland order together to get prepaid freight?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>No<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>How late can I place an order and still get it out the same day?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>As a general rule, any order received prior to 2:00 p.m. EST will ship the same day. \u00a0Please understand this is affected by multiple factors:\n<ul>\n<li>Overall order volume &#8211; If we have been slammed by high order volume, we may have challenges meeting same-day shipping requests.<\/li>\n<li>Truck lines &#8211; Your preferred truck line may have already come and gone for the day.<\/li>\n<li>Size of the order &#8211; A 20+ line item order is likely to be a challenge if received late in the day.<\/li>\n<li>Inventory availability &#8211; If we happen to be out of a given item and have to send the order to another warehouse, we cannot guarantee same-day shipping availability.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Let us know what you need. \u00a0We will do everything possible to meet your requirements.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>Who do I need to contact to get a copy of an invoice?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>Please email your invoice request to <a href=\"mailto:orders@fortneysales.com\">orders@fortneysales.com<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"left\"><strong>How late are you open?\u00a0 Are you open on weekends?<\/strong><\/div>\n<div align=\"left\">\n<ul>\n<li>Our hours of operation are as follows:\n<ul>\n<li>M-Th 8:00-5:30<\/li>\n<li>Fri &#8211; 8:00-5:00<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>If an emergency arises, please contact your outside salesman directly.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is a manufacturer&#8217;s representative?
